  All Day 5K Run / Walk for Danielle   Friends and family of Danielle Loftus, the young lady who was seriously injured in a jet ski accident 3 years ago, are organizing a 5K Run / Walk, Sunday September 15th. Danielle is home, in Springfield, IL, and is being cared for 24/7 by her parents and younger sisters. \r\nDanielle remains in a semi-conscious state, and is unable to speak, eat or move any \r\npart of her body on command or with intention.\r\n\r\nEveryone is encouraged to attend. The Run / Walk will take place rain or shine at the Hope Pavilion at Southwinds Park. Check in begins at 11:00, and the Run / Walk will begin at noon. Runners will be given time sensor bibs, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place medals will be awarded in men and women divisions. \r\n\r\nAdults 18+ $20 each, kids 17 - 4 years $10 each, 3 and under are free. Paid entrants who register before August 30th will receive a t-shirt, event bag, food and drink.   All Day Food For Fines   The Chatham Area Public Library is proud to announce the "Food For Fines" program, which will run Friday, Sept. 13 through Saturday, Sept. 21 (9/13-9/21). This program allows patrons to pay down their CAPLD Library fines by donating canned goods at the Library for the Ball-Chatham Food Pantry. For each item donated $1 will be waived from current overdue fines for library patrons and Chatham County Market will match the donated items up to $400. Call the library for more information at 483-2713 - and please take this opportunity to pay down your overdue fines while helping those in need - don't forget to bring your library card!
 
  5:30PM 7:00PM Capital City Men's Chorus   The Capital City Men’s Chorus (TCCMC), directed by Mary E. Myers, is conducting a membership drive for the 2013 spring season. The Capital City Men’s Chorus is open to any male with a musical interest that is 18 years of age or older. Membership in the TCCMC is open to any musically qualified male who enjoys singing and is willing to give of their time and talents necessary to make each concert a source of pride for all members. The Capital City Men’s Chorus holds rehearsals every Sunday evening from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Laurel United Methodist Church (corner of Walnut and South Grand, third floor choir room) Springfield, Ill. This program is designed to foster biking, hiking, walking and running within the park. Please note the park will be barricaded to prevent vehicular traffic. Sorryds, pets are not allowed; animals used for assistance to disabled persons are welcome. Event benefits the non-profit 67-bell Rees Memorial Carillon.
