  All Day Taste of Germany   Join the Springfield High School German-American Partnership Program group as we host a Taste of Germany. On Sunday, September 22 from 4-7pm at the Inn at 835 in Springfield, you'll have the chance to sample authentic German foods prepared by chef August Mrozowski of Augie's Front Burner. Geoff Bland, owner of the Corkscrew, will be holding a wine tasting of wines from the various regions of Germany. The cash bar will have German beers available. Tickets are $40 each. All guests should be 21 or older, please. All proceeds to benefit the SHS GAPP students and their German student partners. Students from Germany will visit us in October, 2013 and our students will travel to Germany in the summer of 2014.
 
  All Day Preschool Registration   The CACC Preschool, located in the Capital Area Career Center at 2201 Toronto Road in Springfield, has openings for preschool children ages 3, 4, and 5. This is a tuition-free program that meets Monday - Thursday from 8:50 am to 10:50 am. Call (217) 529-5431 ext. 133 to enroll your child. Space is limited.
 
  5:30PM 7:00PM Capital City Men's Chorus   The Capital City Men’s Chorus (TCCMC), directed by Mary E. Myers, is conducting a membership drive for the 2013 spring season. The Capital City Men’s Chorus is open to any male with a musical interest that is 18 years of age or older. Membership in the TCCMC is open to any musically qualified male who enjoys singing and is willing to give of their time and talents necessary to make each concert a source of pride for all members. The Capital City Men’s Chorus holds rehearsals every Sunday evening from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Laurel United Methodist Church (corner of Walnut and South Grand, third floor choir room) Springfield, Ill.   9:00AM 6:00PM Bike and Hike Days   The Springfield Park District is once again hosting the always popular Bike and Hike Days at Washington Park. This program is designed to foster biking, hiking, walking and running within the park. Please note the park will be barricaded to prevent vehicular traffic. Bike and hike days will take place every Sunday through Sept.
 
  1:00PM 8:00PM Wine on the Water   Enjoy the "Elegance of a Country Setting" at the Magnuson Grand Hotel and Conference Center. Step aboard our stationary river boat "The Carlin-Belle" and enjoy the sunshine from our upper deck or a cool climate controlled environment from the lower deck. Each Sunday through September 29th, our staff will open the doors from 1pm to 8pm and serve you a variety of Central Illinois' finest wines from area wineries
 
  12:00PM 6:00PM The A-Maze-ing Corn Maze   Open weekends from Sept. 7/8 through Oct. 12/13, PLUS open Monday, Oct. 14. Saturdays – 11-6, Sundays – 12-6 and Monday (Oct. 14) – 10-2. The location– on the curve in Auburn, 14100 State Route 4 – on the property of the Auburn United Methodist Church. Admission prices - $5 per person, 5 and under free.
